They would almost certainly still have lost, but Stolarz really should have got the start last night in Jersey. To start Mason at 7pm when he was still on the ice making a shootout save at close to 11pm the previous day was a strange decision.

Good Morning Bill,

Both you and Broad Street Hockey have reported that David Kase is on the Czech squad, but he's not listed on their WJC roster right now... Both you and the guys at BSH certainly know more than I do, so am I missing something?

Thanks!

Trying to ride the hot hand. At least he realized it and made the change after the first period.

That fear however was allayed on Tuesday, when it was announced that Kaše would be flying to North America to meet up with the Czech team. It turned out the likely WJC Captain for the Czechs punctured his lung three weeks ago in his first game back from injury against Mountfield HK in the Extraliga. He confided that just a week before it had been touch and go as to whether he would recover in time for the showcase tournament, but that doctors had given him the green light to participate last Saturday.

I think that had to be their worse game since the Toronto game. not that it made a difference but I really felt last night's game was the perfect time to play Stolarz. Don't like the decision to come back with Mason after the tough game the night before break or no break. they've collected 23 of a possible 28 points over the last 14 games so I am very happy with where they are last night aside. Hopefully Coots will be back after the break.

I think I read Panatch tweet that Mason left with back stiffness. As well as Raffl spraining his knee. I agree with you 100%, thought Stolarz should have got the start last night. With the effort from the skaters the outcome wouldn't have been different. Just made sense to give Mason a blow after he faced 38 shots the night before including an OT & shootout.

It's hilarious watching the Flyers have mental meltdowns out there and dig themselves a hole due to their own inability to control their emotions. 0 composure. Pretty standard Devils v Flyers game.

Is that how you treat goaltenders down there?

Bill, aside from being pleasantly surprised, what are your thoughts on Tanner Laczynski beating out the more hyped prospects(Brown & Debrincat) on the USA squad?

Last night was nothing more than a schedule loss. Desperate team on a losing streak playing at home after being ripped and called soft, playing a team that played the night before against a quality opponent who plays a physical brand of hockey

Freaking hate this compressed schedule. I give New Jersey credit for winning the game, but that was nothing more than a schedule loss in my book

thats a ridiculous statement. Before last night Mason has played 20 of the last 22 games over a stretch of 44 days. and its not like the Flyers make it easy on most nights for their goalies. that is a hefty work load.

I was just trying to figure out why someone said they should blow the goaltender.
